What problem does it solve?
When a customer asks “Which firms should I consider for this?” or “What’s the difference between these two solutions?”, the answer no longer comes only from a list of search results. ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google’s AI-generated answers can summarize a handful of sources and give a direct answer. If your brand is missing from those answers, described inaccurately or always outshone by competitors, you are invisible at the moment of decision.
What we look at
- Mentions: Does your brand name appear in the answer? In what context, and alongside which competitors?
- Citations: Does the answer cite your website, or a publication that talks about you, as a source?
- Accuracy: Are your services, the way you work and your contact details described correctly?
- Source map: Which websites, publications and platforms do the answers rely on?
Our approach
We start measurement with real customer questions. Drawing on your sales and support teams, your search data and our knowledge of the sector, we select the priority questions and run them repeatedly on the selected AI platforms. Answers can vary by question, time and user, so we log every result with its date and source and never draw conclusions from a single attempt.
We check the technical side, too. OpenAI says that a site should not block its crawler, OAI-SearchBot, if it wants to appear in ChatGPT’s search answers (OpenAI). Perplexity uses PerplexityBot to surface websites in its results (Perplexity). Google says no special markup is needed to appear as a link in its AI features; a page just needs to be indexed and eligible to be shown in Search with a snippet (Google). That is why we check basic crawlability and SEO first.
Here, we use AI as a research tool: to see the answer the customer sees and to find out which evidence is missing. The weight of our recommendations, though, sits on lasting work such as content, brand messaging and earning a place in credible sources.
What we deliver
- Question list and measurement method
- Brand and competitor mention table
- Answers that do and don’t cite your website
- Inaccurate or missing information in the answers, and its likely sources
- Source map: the websites and publications the answers rely on
- A prioritized action list for content, technical SEO and digital PR
What we don’t promise
No agency can control AI answers. That is why we don’t promise a particular position or a set number of mentions or citations. What we do promise is measurement that is transparent, repeatable and clear enough to support your decisions.
